A trio of Polk County baseball players have been nominated for awards at the 2nd Annual Blue Ridge Baseball and Softball Hot Stove Awards Dinner set for Saturday in Morganton.
The Hot Stove League Dinner recognizes top baseball and softball players and scholars. Orginating in Charlotte more than a decade ago, the Blue Ridge Hot Stove League includes counties Alexander, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey.
Nominated players include Gunnar Alm (Player of the Year), Karson Scruggs (Gamer of the Year), and Nate Fagan (Youth Player of the Year).
