LANDRUM—The fall sports season at Landrum High School has concluded, highlighting the achievements of its athletic programs and the dedication of its athletes and coaches.
The Landrum Girls Volleyball team stood out this season, finishing with an impressive record of 18-5, including a perfect 12-0 in region play. Their remarkable performance earned them the Region 1 title and a spot in the third round of the 2A Upper State Championships. Head coach Taylor Motts was recognized as the Region 1 Coach of the Year, while senior captain Preslee Quinn earned the honor of Region 1 Player of the Year. Additionally, fellow seniors Gracie Adams and Emma Smith were named All-Region Outside Hitters, showcasing their skills and leadership on the court.
In girls’ golf, the team claimed second place in the 2A Region 1 standings and qualified for the State Tournament, finishing seventh overall. Tallulah Phillips represented the team as an All-Region player, and Coach Justin Henson was acknowledged as the Region Coach of the Year, marking a successful season for the program.
The Landrum Girls Tennis Team also had a strong showing by winning the 2A Region 1 Championship. Their successes continued as they defeated Whitmire to capture the Upper State Championship. Although they faced a challenging match against Academic Magnet School in the State Championship, the team’s journey through the tournament was a testament to their skill and teamwork.
Meanwhile, the Varsity Football team concluded their season with a balanced record of 5-5, though they experienced a setback with a loss in the first round of the State Playoffs. The Junior Varsity Football team faced a tougher season, finishing with a record of 1-4.
Overall, Landrum High School’s fall sports programs have demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and excellence, making an impact both on and off the field. As these student-athletes transition into the upcoming winter sports season, the Landrum community looks forward to more moments of pride and achievement.
