First of all, though I am still very weak, I’ve gained a little more strength every day. We’ll see how far the Good Lord lets me come back.
I’ve been busy otherwise; I paid for an acupuncture treatment for Burly, a Dachshund with back problems.
Next, we spent $3,000 for Weezer, a 2-year-old pit mix who is having knee problems. I paid for x-rays and an examination but told the owner I couldn’t handle a major procedure at this time. As of now, Weezer is home with his momma, and I haven’t heard of any major difficulties. Fingers crossed.
Through a rescue I’ve worked with for years, I helped little Princess. Princess’ owner is indigent and on a fixed income, which is many of the cases I have with this rescue. We spent a little over $400 getting her caught up on all her shots, along with urine and heartworm tests. Princess is now home, offering love and comfort to this poor lady.
Now, on a personal level, Jojo, my 10-year-old Golden, who is my therapy dog and is most definitely my girl, was vomiting everything she ate for two days. She couldn’t even hold down water when she drank.
We frantically took her to the vet, and I prayed for her well-being. A full bank of tests, along with X-rays and blood tests, were done. Thank the Lord, there weren’t any major problems. Now on a special diet, she is back to her old self, giving her dad much love and comfort.
All in all, nearly $1,500 was spent without a major case, though they certainly are major for me and those I helped.
So, dear readers, as long as I can maintain my health and the Good Lord sends me angels to support my cause, I will gladly remain on this mission to which I am committed.
Thanks for listening.
