Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I understand Dr. Angel Mitchell with Bonnie Brae Veterinary Hospital is retiring and I wanted her to know how much I love and appreciate her for the help and friendship over the years!

This letter is about 20 years late, but I wanted to let everyone know about the kind hearted, well trained and caring person Dr. Angel really is! I had the pleasure of meeting her when she started her practice in Lynn. I was the Animal Control Officer at the time and was trying my best to update procedures and the way things were done. Thirty-eight years ago, people looked at things different than they do now.

Dr. Angel offered to help me in any way possible with the care of the animals and she did follow through with that offer. She has a heart for helping both animals and humans. I can’t think of the right words to express what she has meant to me as the Animal Control Officer or as a friend.

Dr. Angel, I am sorry I put you through some of the things we did taking chances with rabid animals or vicious scared animals. You were always there and did more than anyone could ask, and always with your smile. You helped me when the county didn’t and I will never forget that.

You are one that helped bring animal welfare and animal control out of the old-school and into the caring new way of how it should be. I just wanted you to know you will not be forgotten and will always hold a special place in my heart! You will be missed!

God bless you, and I wish you all the happiness in the world because you deserve it!
