MILL SPRING—Solid Foundations Counseling Center, a beacon of hope for individuals and families in need, has opened an office in Polk County at the Mill Spring Agriculture Center at 156 School Rd.
The Polk office, led by counselors Frank and Andrea Hill, is committed to enhancing lives, families, and the local communities. Their approach focuses on repairing relationships and empowering families with a holistic philosophy. The center offers a diverse range of services to meet the unique needs of those seeking assistance, including parenting education classes, domestic violence prevention classes, and substance abuse assessments and treatment.
Frank holds a Master’s in Psychology from Towson University and has spent a decade serving in the United States Army as a medical service corps officer. His experience in the military has fueled his dedication to supporting individuals dealing with trauma and PTSD. Andrea, on the other hand, earned her Master’s in Psychology from Liberty University and has been an educator at Polk and Rutherford schools. Frank and Andrea bring a wealth of experience and insight to their roles as counselors.
“Solid Foundations opened the center here because we wanted to make an impact here locally while breaking the stigma that often comes with seeking to improve your mental health,” says Frank.
The center is proud to offer office, home, and school-based treatment to families in need. It accepts a variety of insurances, as well as a private pay option with a sliding scale fee.
Solid Foundations Counseling Center also has offices in Rutherford, Cleveland, Lincolnton, and Gaston counties. By taking a community-oriented approach, the center aims to positively impact the well-being of individuals and families across these areas.
“We’re here for families, couples, and teens in Polk County that couldn’t make it to our Spindale offices,” says Andrea. “People who are looking for a safe space to discuss mental health and receive counseling.”
