July is Vehicle Theft Prevention Month, a crucial time to refresh our knowledge on how to keep our cars and trucks safe from theft. According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, a vehicle is stolen every 33 seconds.
In a recent press release, North Carolina Department of Transportation officials shared helpful tips to protect your vehicle. Follow these tips to protect your vehicle this month and throughout the year.
Vehicle owners should never leave the keys inside their vehicles and should always lock their doors when their car or truck is left unattended. It’s also important to remember to always close the windows and to park in well-lit areas.
It’s always a good idea to avoid leaving valuable items inside vehicles and be sure to utilize the vehicle’s car alarm.
