SALUDA—Bob Sinclair and the Big Deals will perform at the Top of the Grade Concert Series on Friday, July 12, at 7 p.m. on the Ella Grace Mintz Stage in McCreery Park. This free community event is made possible through a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation.
Bob Sinclair and The Big Deals make fun-loving, country-swing music at its best. Music that is fresh and vibrant – characterized by exceptional songwriting, tight harmonies, great arrangements and stellar instrumentation. The Big Deals features the immensely talented Molly Barrett on fiddle/vocals, Tim Gallagher on mandolin, and Sinclair on guitar and vocals.
The songs are delightfully crafted little vignettes wrapped around seriously powerful melodies and uncommon instrumental prowess – and the band wrings every possible drop of emotion out of each one. Showcasing their original songs, the group merges Southern story-telling, chamber music sensibilities, and jazz-influenced melodies to create an original musical sound – elegant but feisty and unfiltered. The Big Deals were recently featured on the Song of the Mountain broadcast for PBS and as a headliner for SERFA, and are a regular performer on The Grind Artist Series.
Organizers ask attendees to bring a lawn chair or a cushion for the new amphitheater seating. Wine and beer are allowed at the concert, but consumption is limited to the seating area. No alcohol is allowed on the playground or in the parking lot. Visitors can place a to-go order at one of Saluda’s fine restaurants so they can enjoy a picnic and live music in the park.
The concert series continues on August 9 with Queen Bee and the Honey Lovers.
The Top of the Grade Concert series is overseen by the Saluda Downtown Foundation, Inc., with support from the City of Saluda. The Saluda Downtown Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts, beautification, historic preservation, cultural development, and economic development in downtown Saluda.
