GOLF: Wolverines grab fifth in MF7 season finale in Forest City

Polk County closed its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference golf schedule on Monday, placing fifth in competition held at Forest City Golf Course.
The Wolverines posted a team score of 343 for the day. East Rutherford fired a 302 to take top honors, with Hendersonville at 311 and R-S Central at 312. Hendersonville still finished as the MF7 regular-season champions, placing 33 strokes ahead of East Rutherford in the season-long competition.
Chase’s Brock Reid took medalist honors with a 67, leading teammate Garrett Pinkerton by a single stroke. Reid finished as the low player for the season in the conference, topping Hendersonville’s Hunter Toney by 10 strokes.
Polk County’s Avery Harden carded a 77 to lead the Wolverines. Harden finished tied with Pinkerton for third place in the season-long conference race.
Myles Menetre added an 83 for Polk County, with Tourin Jackson posting an 87. Piercen Edwards had a 96 and Tanner Osborn a 116 for the Wolverines.
