TRYON—The Foothills Music Club met on Thursday, October 12 at Tryon First Baptist Church. The theme for the program was “Music I’m Working On.”  

Those members participating in the program presented a new piece of music they had been learning recently and explained the challenges it presented. The program consisted of several vocal selections as well as instrumental selections on piano, cello, synthesizer, lever harp and recorder.      

Founded in 1988, the Foothills Music Club is in its 35th year. It continues to provide an opportunity for local musicians to perform and to provide scholarships for promising young musicians. For more information about the club, email ejenkins@windstream.net.
