TRYON–On Friday, May 26, Tryon held its last Fourth Friday event of spring. The event, sponsored by the Tryon Downtown Development Association, spanned down the length of Trade St. and began at 5 p.m.
The event is an opportunity to showcase the best of downtown Tryon, with businesses staying open later, various organizations set up to share information, live music and more.
The Polk County Film Initiative shared a display with the Tryon Theatre, promoting the upcoming film festival. PCFI also had information awareness for their free film education classes program.
The event also featured Echoes of the Paranormal, spotlighting its paranormal investigations, and folks at the Grace Foothills Community Space were treated to the musical stylings of Michael Baughman, alongside local Tryon artists.
In addition to businesses on Trade St. staying open into the evening, there was activity at the various art galleries downtown as well, including 80Six Gallery, Tryon Painters and Sculptors and Upstairs Artspace.
A highlight of the event was the Tryon band Zendetta, who were performing at Nina Simone Plaza.
The Fourth Friday event is held monthly throughout the year. The next Tryon Fourth Friday event will take place on June 30.
