LANDRUM – A special election will be held on May 30 to fill Councilman Daniel Prince’s seat on the Landrum City Council. Early voting began on May 15.
Former Councilman Prince submitted his resignation on March 3, 2023. Prince is moving into a new home in Landrum that is currently outside Landrum city limits. South Carolina requires that a special election be held to fill his seat on the council.
“Daniel has been an important member of the City Council and contributed to the council in many ways during his tenure,” Landrum Mayor Bob Briggs said. “On behalf of the City Council, I want to thank Daniel for his service on the council and know he will continue to serve the Landrum community in other ways in the future.”
The two candidates presently running for the vacant seat are Mike Dill and Judy Henderson.
The polls will be open on May 30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Landrum United Methodist Church, located at 227 North Howard Avenue.
Early voting for the special election is now underway until May 26 at the Voter Registration and Elections Office located at 366 North Church Street, Suite 1630, Spartanburg. For more information, voters can call (864) 596-2549.
