Rally takes place April 20-23, Open House Saturday, April 22

TRYON – The Carolinas Airstream Club members are excited to return to downtown Tryon April 20-23 for their spring Urban Rally. The Tryon Downtown Development Association and the Town of Tryon have teamed up to bring the Trot into Tryon rally to town.

More than two dozen airstream owners from across the region will be rolling into Tryon in their new and vintage Airstreams for a weekend of fun. Airstreamers, as they are known, travel the country living out the dream and vision of Wally Byam, the founder of Airstream. The Carolinas Airstream Club is one of over 100 other Airstream Clubs around the world that are all part of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International.

The Airstreamers will parade into downtown Tryon on Friday morning, April 21, at approximately 10 a.m. On Saturday, April 22, there will be the opportunity to tour the Airstreams from 1-4 p.m. Owners will open up their Airstream units for visitors to check out the interiors and chat. There will be additional entertainment throughout downtown Tryon. There will be boxes available for donation of canned goods and nonperishable food for Outreach.

The Airstream units will only be available for public tours during Saturday afternoon.

“The rally builds ambassadors for the town,” said Trot into Tryon organizer Denny Crowe. “At the end of the week of shopping and dining locally, these Airstreamers will leave with a real sense of place and a love of Tryon.”

This is the second rally in Tryon for the Carolinas Airstream Club. While in town, the Airstreamers provide a boost to our local economy by supporting all of the businesses and restaurants that our town has to offer. Their commitment to supporting our local economy is what this urban Airstream rally is all about.
