Activities begin Friday, June 10, with a community campfire in celebration of the school year ending. Sponsored by The Kiwanis Club of Tryon, the Camp Fire Program will offer fun with the community and s’mores. They will be meeting at Saluda Elementary School’s playground in Saluda from 7-8:30 p.m.

Also on June 10, the Polk County Senior Games and SilverArts are having their closing ceremonies, and all are invited to celebrate the community’s local athletes. The SilverArts entries are being showcased at Stearns Park in Columbus along with the Story Walk, as a tribute to local artists. This event will take place from 2-4 p.m.

PCPR Preschool Park Playtime and Homeschool Park Playtime events have been completed for the semester and will begin once more in the fall. During the summer, this program offers Messy Mondays, where every Monday, starting July 18, students can join others in muddy, wet and colorful play at the Recreation Complex (235 Wolverine Trail, Mill Spring, NC). To join the fun, it is $5 per week or $25 for all 6 weeks.

Registration for YMCA Summer Day Camp is now open for children ages 4-13. Additionally, registration for swim classes and pool parties is now open. For registration, please visit the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg website.

Gibson Park Pool will be opening Saturday, June 11.
