COLUMBUS—The Friends of the Polk County Public Libraries has announced the receipt of a large amount of books featuring Civil War history. Beginning Thursday, May 1, and continuing throughout the month, while supplies last, these books will be available for sale to the public at an affordable price during regular library hours in the Book Sale Room at the Columbus Library.

The Book Sale Room offers used children’s books, adult fiction, DVDs, music CDs, and many nonfiction genres.

Acceptable donations include gently used books, jigsaw puzzles, DVDs, music and CD audiobooks, travel books published within the last three years, technology books published within the last three years, business, medical, and self-help books published within the last five years, and law books published within the last six years. Donations of three boxes or less are accepted at the Columbus Library during regular business hours. Library staff are unable to assist in unloading donations. If donating more than three boxes, donations should be brought on Monday or Friday between 9 and 11 a.m. when Friends volunteers will be pleased to assist you.
