Local equestrians bring home ribbons in dressage competition

Tryon International Equestrian Center hosted the Tryon Spring Dressage 1 competition during the weekend of April 22 through April 24. Several locals competed at various levels of competition. 

 

Competing in her first horse show was Adult Amateur rider Kathryn Williams of Greenville, SC, who rode Gunsmoke’s Gideon. Other Adult Amatuer riders included Carolyn Cadier from Columbus on Clapton, Laura Saunders Coxe from Greenville on Jiovanna LL, and Louise Smith from Mill Spring who rode Danseur.

Professional riders included Jessica Davis of Mill Springs who rode RHF Pacifico and Cider, David Donnelly on Atlas, James Koford on Adeline and Noble Time, Julio Mendoza on Jewel’s Goldstrike and Baylen Dream TWF, and Pam Stone on Ilanka.

 

Judges were Natalie Lamping from Ocala, Florida and Sara Schmitt from Morristown, New Jersey. The next dressage competition at TIEC is scheduled for May 7 – 8 and the competition is open to the public.
