Polk County Volleyball Club’s 17U squad won the Southeast Alliance Volleyball League Club Championship on Sunday, completing an undefeated run through the tournament in Spartanburg.

PCVC’s 17U team defeated Mountain Elite Volleyball Club 17 27-25, 25-16 in Sunday’s championship match.

That capped a 5-0 weekend for PCVC, the team dropping just one set in those five matches.

PCVC’s 17U squad is coached by Shawn Corhn.

Two other PCVC teams competed in the SAVL Club Championship. PCVC’s 13U team, coached by Donna Hall, finished 4-1, reaching the Gold bracket before falling 25-19, 16-25, 15-6 to Upward Stars 13 Alyssa.

PCVC 13U then rebounded to defeat Precision Athletics Volleyball Club – NC 13 Emerald 25-21, 25-23 in the Gold fifth-place match.

PCVC 14U, coached by Kim Staley, finished 3-2, qualifying for the Silver bracket. PCVC 14U dropped a 13-25, 25-21, 15-5 loss to Upward Stars 14 Jordan in its first Silver match before rebounding for a 25-7, 25-12 win over Xcel 14 Select in the Silver fifth-place match.
