County asks residents to use caution as Duke Energy requires lower lake level
LAKE ADGER—Lake Adger is slowly being lowered by 4 feet over the next week.
Polk County Government officials alerted the public Monday that Duke Energy is doing work down river and needs the lake lowered by 4 feet, from 911 feet to 907 feet.
Northbrook will gradually take the level of the lake down over the next week until Sunday, Aug. 9.
The lake will gradually return to the normal level over the next week.
Polk County officials said the marina and public boat launch on the lake in Mill Spring will remain open during the draw down, but the marina area may be inaccessible from the lake to some boats over the weekend.
“As always, please use caution on the lake during the low water conditions as more hazards are exposed,” stated the county’s press release on Monday afternoon.
