CAMPOBELLO- Campobello town members may have seen a new business pop up in the last few weeks. Sunflowers and Cotton is a new store that has recently opened in Campobello.
Owner Jill Ussery, a native to Inman, is thrilled to bring new fashion forward trends at a reasonable price to the town of Campobello.
Ussery never expected to own a clothing store. She said she and her husband had always thought they may want to venture into owning a business but clothing was not their original thought of what she was interested in. At first, she shared “I was very hesitant about bringing this dream to reality and I was extremely nervous to take this business opportunity on.”
When the opportunity came upon her to purchase the once Sassy Chic Boutique, which Ussery was previously one of the main buyers for, she realized this might be her chance. She said, “when it came up for sale I began praying about it for like two months. I was praying about it and I saw signs only from the Lord and finally I felt the Lord tell me to go for it.”
With her knowledge in buying clothes for the previous store she convinced her husband that a clothing store would be what they need to do and so they did. She decided to purchase the storefront and put her twist on the clothes she would sale. She described the style for Sunflowers and Cotton as western, comfortable and cute.
Ussery shared that this business opening was not only her. She mentioned the large group of people around her who support her vision. She said, “I am thankful to my family, friends and church members because they made this a reality for me.”
Stop by and see Jill on Thanksgiving to get a head start on Christmas shopping as she will be offering free wrapping, and the following Saturday, December 7, Santa will visit the store to smile for photos and listen to Christmas wishes.
Sunflowers and Cotton is located at 10796 Highway 11 and the store is open three days out of the week: Thursday and Friday from 10-5 and on Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
