TRYON—On Sunday June 23, the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE) will be hosting a free family concert. The band lined up for the event is The Basement Bunch. The concert will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the band playing for an hour
The Basement Bunch is made up of five members. Jim Peterman, formerly with the Steve Miller Band, plays keyboards. Vinny Corda covers the flute, sax & guitar, Robbie Johnson on drums, Mark Kennedy on guitar, Elaina Prevett on bass & mandolin. Various members of the group add to the vocals when they perform.
The Basement Bunch was formed as you may have guessed, after playing many jam sessions in Peterman’s basement. The Basement Bunch plays an assortment of rock ‘n’ roll music as well as rhythm and blues, funk, and Motown.
Following the bands performance, there will be refreshments. The Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Foundation helped to make the event possible.
