Operation Christmas Child drop off centers are cheery places

I had a delightful experience recently while delivering my “shoebox” for the Operation Christmas Child drive (sponsored by Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse).
I love participating in this program, because I know millions of children around the world will experience the love of Jesus — stuffed in colorful shoeboxes full of toys, toiletries and school supplies!
I chose the Polk County Baptist Association drop-off site because of the convenience, but realized I was given much more than I gave at that particular location.
The moment I walked in the door, I was met with a warm greeting and a beautiful smile by Laura Morgan and her hard-working crew (from Saluda Baptist Church). She was wearing a bright red and green ball cap, covered with jingle bells, snowmen and candy canes! Her smile lit up the room, and her energy was “off the charts.”
She and I had a brief conversation about our own experiences at the Operation Christmas Child distribution center in Charlotte and the fun we’ve had in years past.
I just want to commend this team for their hard work, cheerfulness and love for children. If you need a dose of “Christmas Spirit,” just visit an Operation Christmas Child drop-off center or sign up to help with packing the boxes at the distribution center.
You’ll leave with a spring in your step and a smile on your face.
