To celebrate her birthday, Jessica Phillips, manager of Tryon’s A Taste of Olives & Grapes, will throw a benefit party for the dogs of the Foothills Humane Society, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at the Tryon Depot, 22 Depot St., Tryon.

With an advance ticket for The Happy Mutt Benefit Party, a partier can feast on a hot and cold buffet that includes oil and vinegar delights prepared by Phillips, and other dishes donated by local restaurants.

Entertainment and activities include Daniel Keller, jazz guitarist/music teacher; veterinarian Iain Fitch, with Native American flutes; happy shelter mutts to pet; a “Goin’ to the Dogs” silent auction; and a “restaurant raffle.”
