To the residents of Tryon,

I’m deeply saddened about the loss of the historic Melrose Inn.

I’m the great-grandson of Dr. Charles Kenworthy, the original owner of the property. I’ve been doing a lot of research recently on my family history, which a large part of it was my family residing there.

My wife and I had planned on staying there next month, and were looking forward to staying in the same home that my grandmother was born in.
