Children’s author to offer book signing at Landrum Farmer’s Market Sept. 8

Author Sally Hursey will be signing her new picture book, “Big Sid” at the Landrum Farmer’s Market from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.

Hursey will read her new picture book — a light hearted tale about sibling rivalry and friendship — to children at the Farmer’s Market at 10 a.m.

Hursey will also have copies of “Molly to the Rescue: A True Story” available for purchase. Molly is a local shelter dog that becomes a member of the elite K-9s for Warriors program and saves a veteran suffering with PTSD.

People may visist Hursey’s website at sallyhursey.com to learn more about the books and author.

Representatives from Service Dogs for Veterans, a local nonprofit, will also be with Hursey to talk about the organization. The group’s motto is “Fighting PTSD one rescued dog at a time.” People may visit sd4v.org to learn more.
