Award-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist Mitch Hayes, along with his daughter, Erin Hayes, will perform a free concert in Saluda from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Green River Brew Depot, located at 26 Church St. downtown.
Reviewing a live show by Hayes and his daughter, Erin, during their “Chasing the Pacific Sunset” West Coast tour this past spring, longtime national entertainment publication Music Connection wrote, “Mitch and Erin both have exceptional voices and play their instruments extremely well. Mitch kept the rhythms going with his guitar, and Erin added flavor and zest with her flute. The songs are expertly crafted and extremely melodic. At the end of every tune you’re saying to yourself, ‘That was a great song.’ A brilliant duo with an engaging vibe.
“Mitch Haye’s new album is an inspiration…a folk/Americana singer-songwriter from North Carolina who many feel is their natural successor to Leonard Cohen for his songs of social commentary.”
Hayes is a singer-songwriter from the Charlotte area, who performs original folk/Americana music.
Sometimes, Hayes performs as a solo artist. Sometimes, he performs as a duet with his daughter, Erin, on flute and vocals.
Then there is his “Mitch Hayes Trio,” with Erin, and songwriter and lead guitarist Mike Alicke. Last but not least, Hayes performs on occasion with the band, “Last Chance, Bruce!” Band members are Mitch, Erin, bassist Jim Edwards, guitarist Shawn Kaupish and drummer Scott Newell.
Hayes has two albums to his credit. In 2014, he released his debut CD, “My Reflection,” recorded at On Pop of The World Studio in Greensboro, North Carolina. The album was engineered, mixed and co-produced with Randy Seals and mastered by Eric Lovell of Blu Bubble Studios, of Charlotte.
In August 2016, Hayes released his sophomore CD, “Heroes,” recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Eric Lovell at Blu Bubble Studios in Charlotte.
