Girl Scout Juniors from Polk County Troop 20124 chose for their Bronze Award project to make adoption kits for Foothills Humane Society.
The kits include toys, food, treats, brushes and other items.
Members would like to thank the following donors: Purrrfect Bark of Columbus, Blueridge Barkway of Tryon, PetSmart of Arden, Petco of Asheville, Food Lion of Columbus, Dollar General of Tryon, Tim Edwards Landscape & Feed, Family Dollar of Columbus and the Hospice Barn in Landrum.
Foothills Humane Society, a no-kill shelter, is running an adoption special for cats and dogs.
To complete this Bronze Award, the Junior Scouts chose a community service project, and spent 20 hours planning, collecting donations, researching and assembling toys and kits.
They chose this project because they love animals, and want to help dogs and cats get adopted.
Troop 20124 is led by Laura Peek & Carole Gassaway, and meets in Tryon.
