The Meeting Place announced the volunteer of the month for August, giving recognition to those who have gone above and beyond expectations. Velma Logan, a volunteer at The Meeting Place satellite site location in Green Creek, has been dedicated to assisting the staff for almost two years. Coming in to help almost every day, Logan completes numerous responsibilities such as serving meals, packing home-delivered plates and greeting those at the center. She has donated several hours of her time to help The Meeting Place when needed. “Velma was an easy pick for this month as she has been a big help and a great volunteer,” said Julie Jolley, Green Creek site supervisor.
