In Polk County District Court on Monday, July 30, 2018, with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 68 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Devron Pierre Anderson was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Anderson was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Joshua Cuthbertson was convicted of breaking and or entering. Cuthbertson was sentenced to 15 days in jail, with one day credit.

Lattie Dean Honeycutt was convicted of possession of methamphetamine and attempt to possess a firearm by a felon. Honeycutt was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation, 48 hours of community service, a $200 fine and court costs.

Mark Allen Matthews was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Matthews was fined $100 and court costs.

Douglas P. Smith was convicted of resisting public officer and felony possession of cocaine. Smith was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation, five days in jail, with credit for time served, a $200 fine and court costs.

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 71 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Charles Eric Blackmon was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Blackmon was fined $40 and court costs.

Jimmy Lee Christian was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Christian was fined $50 and court costs.

Madison Ann Fagan was convicted of possession of fortified wine/malt beverage under age 21. Fagan was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Alfred James Fauvell was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Fauvell was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Cameron Mark Reed was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Reed was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
