Engines roared and dust flew through the air of Trade Street Wednesday, as crews continued repaving work along the roadway. A portion of the street, from Howard Street to Oak Street, was closed to traffic that morning. In addition, traffic control measures were put in place at the intersection of U.S. 176 and Highway 108 coming into town. The construction is part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s ongoing milling and repaving project along U.S. 176., from the 176/108 intersection to the state line in Tryon. The work is expected to take several weeks, and will result in delays and detours for motorists, town officials said. (Photos by Ted Yoakum/Tryon Daily Bulletin)
