TRYON — For the first time in over 15 years, Rachelle’s Crown and Glory Salon, of Tryon, is under new ownership.
Rachel Box, an experienced beautician of 50 years, took over the business last month. She recently decided to move back into the Tryon area and get back into owning a salon.
Box was previously a resident of the Tryon area, where she owned a salon for 14 years. After moving and working underneath others for some time, she recently decided owning was more her fit.
“I was a salon owner for several years,” Box said. “After owning my own store 20 years ago and then renting another station in another salon, I just prefer being the owner.”
Thus, she moved back to Tryon and acquired Rachelle’s Crown and Glory Salon this past May, and has worked these past few months to make the style and services her own.
“I’ve made it a little more elegant with its appearance, with velvet chairs and window scarves for a more sophisticated look,” Box said.
Box still offers hairstyling, but has expanded to become a full-service salon by adding manicures and pedicures, along with selling wigs and hair pieces.
These services are available to men, women and children in what Box strives to be a relaxing area.
“I think they [customers] should stop in here if they want a place to really relax and enjoy the service,” Box said. “It’s peaceful and quiet, and it’s just one of the few places that I know of you can go and just really let down. That’s my whole goal — I want people to relax and feel beautiful.”
Both returning and new customers are encouraged to come experience the services and feel of Rachelle’s Crown and Glory Salon, located on 568 N. Trade St., Tryon. For more information, people may call 828-859-3106.
