The average age of farmers in Polk County stands at 60.2 and nationwide, half of America’s farmland will change hands in the next 12 years.

Our food future is in crisis, and close to 20 percent  of America’s food supply is imported.

Farmers for America is a documentary following the struggles and triumphs of young farmers as they grow and raise America’s food.

Join Growing Rural Opportunities for a free showing of this movie at the Tryon Theatre on Monday, March 19.

A reception to meet and greet with local young farmers will start at 6 p.m., and the movie will begin at 7 p.m.
