Another wild and windy night

Three weeks to the day of the last major wind event that spawned tornadoes in the Tryon area, another rainy and windy day on Sunday, Oct. 29 produced more downed trees and related power outages around the Foothills area. Pictured is a crew from Sumter Utilities as they arrived in Lynn Monday morning to begin repair to power lines draped across Hwy. 108 between the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce. The tree that brought the lines down was an 80-plus year old hickory tree at the Sidney Lanier house. (Photo by Claire Sachse)
