Columbus schedules budget workshop Monday, May 22

The Town of Columbus will have a budget workshop on Monday, May 22 from 6-8 p.m. This will be the town’s first discussion regarding the upcoming fiscal year 2017-2018 budget, which begins July 1. The town was scheduled to meet Thursday, May 18 to see the budget draft.

Tryon Town Council scheduled a public hearing for June 20 at 7 p.m. to hear comments regarding the upcoming budget for fiscal year 2017-2018. Town council is scheduled to adopt the budget following the public hearing. The hearing and meeting will be held at Tryon Town Hall.

Traffic counters on Hwy. 108 removed Friday

Traffic counters that were placed along Hwy. 108 by a consultant working for the N.C. Department of Transportation (DOT) were scheduled to be removed on Friday, May 19. The traffic counters were placed in several locations along Hwy. 108 between Columbus and Tryon as well as one on U.S. 176 in Tryon to complete traffic counts.
