The Polk County Rescue Squad recently spent money donated by the residents of White Oak Village of Tryon and matched by the White Oak Management Inc. of Spartanburg, S.C. to purchase needed equipment. The rescue squad said it is appreciative of the opportunity White Oak gave the department to purchase rescue equipment, including harnesses and ropes totaling $2,904. White Oak selected the rescue squad in January as the nonprofit organization to donate money, which totaled $2,804.
