POLK COUNTY DISTRICT COURT RESULTS
In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, with Judge Peter Knight presiding, 172 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Christopher S. Candler was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Candler was fined $40 and court costs.
Melissa Joetta Capps was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Capps was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, a $25 fine and courts.
Ronald Joseph Cooper was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Cooper was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Candace Lynn Epps was convicted of speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. Epps was fined $30 and court costs.
Anthony Jason Fortuni was convicted of level four driving while impaired. Fortuni was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 48 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Anthony John Kniffin was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Kniffin was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.
Michael Terance Louer was convicted of level two driving while impaired. Louer was sentenced to 12 months supervised probation, 30 days in jail, a $200 fine and court costs.
Marvin Terrel McDowell was convicted of flee/elude arrest with motor vehicle. McDowell was sentenced to 51 days in jail with credit for time served.
Ryan Lane Moss was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Moss was fined $50 and court costs.
Donna Mae Murphy was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Murphy was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Nicholas M. Pacilli was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Pacilli was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Julie Page Sutton was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Sutton was fined $50.
Neysa Ward Ward was convicted of level five driving while impaired and concealed gun after/while consuming. Ward was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Alec C. Whittington was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Whittington was to pay court costs.
Amy Lee Willis was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Willis was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.
POLK COUNTY ARRESTS
JAN. 22-28
Jan. 24
Chavis Cunningham, 25, was arrested and charged with IV-D non-support of child. Cunningham was given no bond.
Jessica Garcia, 30, was arrested and charged with felony probation out of county. Garcia was given a $6,000 bond.
Jan. 25
Alfred Sellers, 41, was arrested and charged with resisting public officer and intoxicated and disruptive. Sellers was given a $200 bond.
Jan. 26
Zetta McAndrew, 30, was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. McAndrew was given a $1,000 bond.
Matthew Rice, 25, was arrested and charged with two counts of probation violations. Rice was given $26,500 in bonds.
Jan. 27
Susan Bowman, 51, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance. Bowman was given a $15,000 bond.
Bradley Gevedon, 45, was arrested and charged with failure to appear on misdemeanor. Gevedon was given a $2,000 bond.
Jan. 28
Nathaniel Whitesides, 32, was arrested and charged with larceny after break/enter, conspiracy to commit felony larceny and breaking and or entering. Whitesides was given a $22,000 bond.
LANDRUM ARRESTS
Jan. 22-28
Jan. 23
Mark Foster, 40, of Landrum, was arrested and charged with a family court sentence. Foster was given a $400 bond.
Jan. 26
John Powell, 54, of Landrum, was arrested and charged with violating a county ordinance. Powell was later released.
Jan. 28
Christina Bowman, 20, of Landrum, was arrested and charged with 12 counts of car breaking, one count of first-degree burglary, one count of second-degree nonviolent burglary and one count of malice injury to real property.
