Polk County brothers take part in Diamond Youth All-American Bowl

A pair of Polk County athletes recently competed against football players from around the country in the Diamond Youth All-American Bowl in Myrtle Beach.

Polk County Middle School seventh grader Dakota Twitty and Tryon Elementary School third grader Dylan Twitty were both invited to take part in the All-American Bowl, held on Dec. 31. Players were chosen for the games from nominations.

Both players were on the winning teams in their respective games, held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Dakota Twitty had a touchdown catch and recorded eight tackles in his game while Dylan Twitty had several tackles and made key contributions defensively in his team’s win.
