The Polk County Office of Agricultural Economic Development and Polk County Farm Bureau are pleased to invite you to our first Friends of Agriculture Breakfast of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
The Friends of Agriculture Breakfast will be held at the 4-H Building, 135 Locust Street, Columbus from 7-8 a.m. This free event features a delicious, hearty breakfast and a speaker on areas of interest to our community of farmers, gardeners, and food enthusiasts.
This month’s breakfast will feature a discussion about the benefits of seed saving for farmers and gardeners by Chris Smith, a seed saver with Sow True Seed in Asheville.
Don’t forget our community members in need! Donations of canned foods will be collected at this event to benefit the clients of Thermal Belt Outreach Ministries. Please also bring any clean, empty egg cartons that you might have, which will be supplied to our local egg producers.
