A man was murdering people with a gun, so they took away his gun.

He then began murdering people with knives and axes, so they took away all his sharp objects.

He then began murdering people with hammers and baseball bats, so they took away all his blunt objects.

He then began murdering people with his hands, so they took away the man and the murders ceased.
