Polk District Court results for Aug. 10

In Polk County District Court held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 100 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Austin N. Barnes was convicted of probation violation. Barnes’ probation was revoked with credit for time served.

Michelle Belue was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Belue was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.

Justin Tyson Britt was convicted of failure to maintain lane control. Britt was fined $100 and court costs.

Sarah Beth Brown was convicted of felony probation violation, defrauding drug/alcohol screen, attempt possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of methamphetamine. Brown was sentenced to six-17 months in prison with credit for 17 days, probation was revoked and court costs.

Dashayla Gary was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation out of county. Gary was sentenced to five days in jail.

Kenneth Christopher Hicks was convicted of simple possession of schedule II controlled substance. Hicks was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $25 fine and court costs.

Jackson Lee Hunter was convicted of assault on a female. Hunter was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.

April Dawn Moore was convicted of violation of court order. Moore was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for time served and court costs.

Dwayne A. Newberry was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Newberry was fined $40 and court costs.

Alfred Sellers III was convicted of felony probation violation. Sellers was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

Andrew Perry Turner was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Turner was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
