Tee off for Hud

Published 10:00 pm Thursday, June 30, 2016

Randy Hudson has spent most of his life working outdoors and cutting trees. On June 26, 2015 while cutting trees he was injured when a tree fell on him. His injury has left him paralyzed from the waist down. He spent a month at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Then he went to Shepherd’s Center in Atlanta, Ga. Randy spent over four months in Georgia receiving intensive physical therapy.

Hud returned home to Polk County November 2015. Since this time he has continued to work hard in outpatient physical therapy. Recently insurance approved for Hud to get braces for his legs to assist with standing. However, it is not as simple as just putting on the braces and standing up. Hud must continue to work with physical therapy to improve his balance and strength.

Insurance will not allow Hud any more days of physical therapy so now he must pay out-of-pocket for therapy. Currently he continues to go to therapy anywhere from two to three days a week. This is costly on top of other medical bills.

On July 9, we will be hosting a golf tournament to offset the expense of physical therapy. The tournament will be held at Meadow Brook Golf Course. Please contact David Price, 828-817-2894, or Donna Littlefield, 828-817-1088 if you are interested in participating in the tournament. Please come out and support Hud as he continues on this journey. Thanks again for your continued prayers and support for Hud and his family.
