Columbus arrests three for stealing merchandise from Food Lion

The Columbus Police Department recently arrested three people who had approximately $2,000 worth of stolen merchandise from the Columbus Food Lion.

On April 16 Columbus officers conducted a traffic stop at the westbound ramp to I-26 and discovered that the driver was driving with a revoked license.

Officers also discovered the owner of the vehicle, a passenger, had a warrant for her arrest for misdemeanor larceny out of Buncombe County.

Officers searched the vehicle and found the stolen merchandise from Food Lion as well as merchandise from several other stores located outside of Columbus, according to police reports.

Tyrean Kendrell Massagee, 24, of 816 4th Avenue West Hendersonville; Angela Christine Robbs, 39, of 1415 Tunnel Rd., Asheville and Brittney Lashai Darity, 20, of 210 A. Norleon Ave., Hendersonville were all arrested and charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods, according to Columbus reports.

Massagee was found to been driving with a revoked license and Robbs had a warrant for larceny out of Buncombe County.

The stop was done on a 1994 Honda Civic which was displaying a registration plate that belonged to another vehicle, according to police reports.

The suspects were taken to the Polk County Jail with Massagee issued a $2,000 secured bond, Robbs issued a $2,000 secured bond and a $5,000 bond out of Buncombe County and Darity issued a $1,000 secured bond, according to police reports.
