May is National Foster Care Month

The Polk County Department of Social Services would like to take this opportunity to recognize our resource parents. Fostering children who need safety and stability is one of the most important jobs that we ask of Polk County citizens. Resource parents provide a level of commitment and professionalism that is on par with the highest duties of our state.

Think about the effect a loving home offering structure and routine will have on a child now and for all of their life. It is staggering to think about what would happen to a child in need of placement if we did not have our most important resource, foster parents.

We would like to thank our elite group of foster parents who continue to demonstrate a willingness to disrupt their own lives to care for the most vulnerable, our children!

Thank you for being Polk County’s resource parents.
