Special Olympics North Carolina has re-launched SONC.net – a totally re-designed, mobile friendly website devoted to promoting important and timely information about Special Olympics throughout the state, and delivering this information in an easily accessible, user-friendly format.

 

More importantly, this new website was created for everyone who wants to get involved, make a difference, volunteer and support the nearly 40,000 Special Olympics athletes currently registered in North Carolina.

 

In order to keep up with the growing number of people viewing the website from mobile devices, Special Olympics North Carolina decided it was time for a major redesign of SONC.net. In addition, they also needed a website that would be image conscious, easy-to-read, easy to navigate and be able to highlight news, events and information from each of the local programs in all 100 counties of North Carolina.

 

Ninth Floor Communications of Raleigh NC was chosen as SONC’s partner for this massive undertaking.  “Ninth Floor was great to work with and they really helped us create a mobile friendly, visually attractive, informative site that allows us to communicate much more effectively with our users,” remarked Megan O’Donnell, Special Olympics NC vice president of communications.

 

Also, according to Rachel McQuiston, Special Olympics North Carolina director of communications and social media, “An important goal was to make the information and events associated with the local programs across the state, easy to find.”

 

Everything on the new site is concise and highly organized, and it includes information for all who wish to become involved – whether someone wants to become a coach, donate, sign up, volunteer their time, join a fundraiser or become a corporate sponsor — they are now able to find what they came for quickly and easily.
