Three Polk County band students, Ellie Booth (seventh grade), Jacob Grigg (eighth grade) and Taylor Warren (tenth grade), have earned the honor of performing in the Western North Carolina All District Clinic Band.

 

These students earned this honor by auditioning in front of three to four judges from around the state. They had to play seven scales, a solo piece and sight read for a total audition score. The top scores from each instrument section were selected for each grade level band.

 

The clinic band weekend was Feb. 12 and 13 at Western Carolina University. Each band was worked and conducted by a guest clinician from around the United States, giving the students an opportunity to work with great conductors and other students with wonderful talent.
