In the 2016 Republican Presidential Preference Primary held Saturday, Feb. 20, Donald Trump was declared the winner early in the evening. Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Ted Cruz battled for second place throughout the night, with Rubio officially declared second place winner after midnight.

 

Gov. Jeb Bush placed fourth, Gov. John Kasich fifth, and Dr. Ben Carson sixth. Bush suspended his campaign at 9 p.m. Saturday evening.

In the statewide analysis below, voter turnout averaged 24.21 percent with 716,954 votes cast:
