Forest City man charged in Dalton shooting

A Forest City man has been charged in the shooting of Jessica Arrowood Dalton, the daughter of Tryon Police Chief Jeff Arrowood.
Henry David Allen, of Nehemiah Road, Forest City was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, three counts of discharge a weapon into an occupied property and discharge a weapon into occupied property inflicting serious bodily injury, according to police reports.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office located, arrested and transported Allen to the Rutherford County Detention Center on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
On Oct. 24 just before noon, Dalton, 25, was in a friend’s home on Newton Cole Road in Rutherford County getting ready to go out when a bullet struck her in the neck while she was in the bathroom. Dalton is still in the hospital.
Rutherford County Sheriff Chris Francis said Dalton was an innocent bystander. Several bullets from a rifle entered the home on Oct. 24, all fired from outside the home. There were several people inside the home but Dalton was the only one struck.
Allen received a $700,000 bond on his charges.
