To the editor:

The recent decision by Commissioners Pack, Holbert and Gage to not reinstate Patti Lovelace and Nancy Hasselbring (Animal Cruelty Investigators) was appalling. This is not about politics; this is about helping innocent animals that are constantly being abused and tortured. I am not interested whether you are a Democrat or Republican. I am only concerned about animal welfare. Congratulations to Commissioners Shane Bradley and Ray Gasperson for supporting Lovelace and Hasselbring, who along with the other five investigators do a fantastic job with helping Animal Control in this county. I think it is about time for the commissioners to get their priorities in order and consider the people of the county and not just their political party. Let’s remember: we are supposedly in the Bible Belt and all creatures were created by God. Therefore, it is the responsibility of us all to care and protect them from the cruelty inflicted by many humans.
