Tryon Halloween stroll, costume contest
Published 10:00 pm Wednesday, October 29, 2014
It’s time once again for the ghosts and goblins of the foothills to come out and take part in the annual Tryon Halloween Stroll on Friday, Oct. 31 from 4 – 6 p.m. followed by a costume contest at Rogers Park from 6 – 7 p.m.
Every boy and ghoul, young and old, is invited to dress up and creep, crawl or ride a broomstick to see what tricks or treats await them from downtown Tryon’s
shops.
After filling goody bag with treats that would make any dentist shiver in fear, shamble on over to Rogers Park for the costume contest. On the way, sink your fangs into the fire department’s piping hot popcorn.
Age groups will be 0-3, 4-8, 9-12, and 13-16. Each group will have three winner categories: spookiest, funniest and cutest, and each winner will receive spook-tacular prizes. As always, Andy Millard will be the master of “scare”emonies for the event.
This fun, safe and admission free event is funded by the Tryon Downtown Development Association. Come on out and have a frighteningly good time.
