Look for Lions on the street in October
Published 10:00 pm Tuesday, September 30, 2014
Members of the Landrum Lions Club will take to the streets of Landrum on Oct. 2 – 4 to raise funds as part of the annual Candy Day. Funds collected by community members will be used to support the local Lions Club projects, which include providing eyeglasses and eye care to members of the community, sponsoring Boys/Girls State participants from Landrum High School and the local Backpack Ministry. We appreciate BI-LO, Wells Fargo and The Kangaroo for allowing the Landrum Lions to use their locations to reach out for donations. Also look for the bright yellow aprons at the intersection of Highways 14 and 176 on Oct. 19 for our annual “roadblock”.
The Landrum Lions Club was founded in 1959 and has 25 members that meet on the first and third Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Ayers Market. Lions Club is a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. For more information or to get involved with the Landrum Lions Club, please contact Bob Walker or Paul Ayers.
