Polk County residents within the Columbus Fire District may receive a partial refund on their Combined Tag and Tax Notice issued in July and August of 2014. Refunds should be received within 60 days. Residents who have not yet paid their bill will be mailed an amended Tag & Tax Notice no later than Friday, August 8. The billing error resulted from an inaccurate tax rate applied to notices by the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles.
