The Columbus Board of Planning and Adjustment held a special meeting on July 23 at 5 p.m. at Columbus Town Hall to approve an order that allows Special Use Permit SU-01-14 to take effect. The special use permit, allowing a governmental office within the central business district, was approved June 18. The permit pertains to 51 Walker St., the building formerly used as the early college that Polk County will now use for its tag and tax office. A quorum was present, including Jimmi Buell, Chris Rome and Mary Shambaugh, and the order was approved unanimously with no public comments.
